Discover the spectacular side of Lake Maggiore from the water on board our elegant boat. Enjoy an impressive 5-hour cruise around the picturesque islands of Lake Maggiore. The trip takes you deep into Italy. Discover the Roman Catholic monastery and hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso.
According to tradition, the hermitage was founded by a wealthy local merchant, Alberto Besozzi. He had miraculously survived a shipwreck while crossing the lake. He then decided to retire to this part of the coast as a hermit.
Blessed Alberto built a chapel here and dedicated it to Saint Catherine of Egypt, who is depicted in the frescoes in the background of the chapel. The chapel was built in the 12th century.
