Plastic Neutral
Our five-star hotels Storchen Zürich, Widder Hotel, Alex See Zürich and Castello del Sole go even further when it comes to environmental protection. In the guest areas, most single-use plastic materials have been replaced with high-quality, sustainable alternatives. Some of the remaining stocks are still being used up. Hotels are working closely with suppliers to find innovative products and replace plastic packaging. All plastic waste is collected and weighed at the hotels before being sent to a specialist company for recycling. The Living Circle neutralises all non-recyclable and non-substitutable plastic waste in collaboration with CleanHub.
Preventing polluted oceans
CleanHub is committed to collecting and recycling plastic in polluted coastal regions around the world. With partners around the world, CleanHub prevents plastic from ending up in the sea in the first place. The collected plastic waste is handed over to local organisations for recycling. The non-recyclable part is sorted and used in "co-processing" for the production of cement.
The Living Circle actively supports the CleanHub project known as the "No Trash Coral Triangle", located off the coast of North Sulawesi in Indonesia. Thanks to The Living Circle's unwavering commitment, over 25,000 kilograms of plastic waste have already been meticulously collected from the beaches and immediate vicinity of the Coral Triangle - an iconic and protected coral reef system in Indonesia. This concerted effort not only contributes to environmental conservation, but also creates fairly paid local employment opportunities. CleanHub, in partnership with The Living Circle, is ensuring sustainable development and providing vital support to the local community.
